The Kællingesjal used the same lace design along the bottom, and Costumatty kindly shared instructions for making “mirror” lace. That pattern also provides a smaller version of lace along the top, so I incorporated that edging into the Clever shawl Kællingesjal 1897; recreation, Museum, Denmark. by Mette Rørbech.

Have just discovered :Kællingesjal 1897 on Ravelry and thus your blog. Started the shawl 4 days ago - almost finished with bottom edge lace. The beauty of it attracted my attention - the uniqueness of the piece is keeping me interested. Must admit to having some problems figuring out the pattern directions - but so far, so good!
